A Cornish summer / Catherine Alliott. - [London] : Penguin Books, 2019. - 437, [5] stron ; 20 cm.
Literatura w języku angielskim.
U góry okładki: One first wife. one second wife. One mother-in-law.
Flora`s been in love with her husband for twenty years. The trouble is, he`s been married to someone else for the past fifteen . . . Now she`s been invited to spend the summer in the shady lanes and sandy coves of Cornwall. It should be blissful. There`s just one small snag: she`ll be staying with her former mother-in-law, Belinda. And Flora discovers she`s not the only one invited when her ex-husband shows up out of the blue, complete with his new wife. So now there are two small snags. Can Flora spend the summer playing happy families with the woman who stole her husband`s heart, and the mother-in-law who might have had a hand in it? Or will stumbling on the family secret change her mind about them all? If you like Fern Britton, Katie Fforde and Sophie Kinsella, you`ll love this heartwarming read.

When Emma Hall's school announces that it's going to stage a production of Samson & Delilah, Emma feels slightly sick - being up on stage in front of everybody really isn't her style. It's much more the kind of thing that Emma knows her best friend, Kate, would be brilliant at (Kate is brilliant at everything and in fact if she weren't so nice, they definitely wouldn't be friends!). But something inside Emma is niggling her, making her want to be up there treading the boards and smelling the grease paint with everyone else (she has a sneaking suspicion it's something to do with genes inherited from her very over-the-top mother - dramatic sigh!)Just as suspected the lead role of Delilah goes to Kate and Emma gets given the particularly un-glamorous and please-let-the-ground-swallow-me-up role of Third Donkey! Losing the lead to her best mate, Emma can just about handle but when she starts to lose Kate to a boy (honestly!) Emma feels very rejected. When her other friends are completely unsympathetic (Nicky busy gleefully tormenting the younger kids and Peter starting to act very strangely around her these days) Emma wonders how on earth she is going to survive this year - let alone as third donkey!

Out of Africa / Karen Blixen. - London : Penguin Books, 2001. - 329, [7] stron ; 20 cm.
Literatura w języku angielskim.
In 1914 Karen Blixen arrived in Kenya with her husband to run a coffee farm. Instantly drawn to the land, she spent her happiest years there until the plantation failed. Karen Blixen was forced to return to Denmark in 1931 and it was there that she wrote this classic account of her experiences. A poignant farewell to her beloved farm, Out of Africa describes her strong friendships with the people of her area, her affection for the landscape and animals, and great love for the adventurer Denys Finch-Hatton. Written with astonishing clarity and an unsentimental intelligence, Out of Africa portrays a way of life that has disappeared for ever.

When wealthy Sara Crewe arrives at Miss Minchin's boarding school in London, she is determined to settle in and make friends.
Charismatic and popular, with a big heart and a love of storytelling, she seems to be succeeding. Her father always said she was a Little Princess, and she knows exactly what it means to be a princess: to be kind, understanding and polite.
That is, until tragedy strikes. Sara must fight harder than she thought possible to remain both strong and kind in the most difficult of circumstances.

Nękany wyrzutami sumienia Wilde zaczyna go szukać.

The new rip-roaring Oregon Files adventure from the grand master of adventure Clive Cussler. To get the money back, Juan joins forces with an old friend from his days in the CIA so they can track down a rogue hacker and a ruthless former Ukrainian naval officer. It is only after the hunt begins that the enormity of the plan comes into focus: the bank theft is just the first step in a plot that will result in the deaths of millions and bring the world’s economies to a standstill. The catalyst for the scheme? A stunning document stolen during Napoleon’s disastrous invasion of Russia.
